Today, Ulsi Manja, Minister of Justice, and Prof. Dr. Elvira Fetahu, Rector of “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University in Elbasan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop legal clinics and integrate higher education and public services. This cooperation is an important step to improve the training of law students and the access of citizens to legal services.
Through this memorandum, law students will be able to gain practical experience at the Directorate of Free Legal Aid while directly contributing to the preservation of citizens’ rights when seeking legal assistance. This program will help students prepare for the job market by putting theoretical knowledge into practice in real situations and assisting those in need of legal assistance.
This project welcomes future generations of legal professionals to the Ministry of Justice, who will help improve the quality of services and increase access to justice for all Albanian residents, regardless of their financial circumstances.
This Memorandum of Understanding provides free legal services to the residents of Elbasan at the Legal Clinic of the University “Aleksandër Xhuvani.” This service will provide individuals with more direct and efficient access to justice, allowing for faster and more secure protection of their rights.
At the end of the ceremony, Minister Ulsi Manja emphasized the importance of this relationship and met with the students of the university. He praised the dedication and commitment of the academic staff and professors and thanked them for their crucial role in maintaining Elbasan as a hub of knowledge and a center for the development of higher education in Albania.
